On December 11, 2009, DPC held a very special event at the Music Hall of SM Mall of Asia. It started with a Magic Show performed by Teddy Bravo. Teddy wowed the crowd with several illusions and tricks and even got a few of them to participate in his act. He then invited a special “volunteer” onto the stage to help with his finale.
Unknown to the crowd, this volunteer was working together with the magician to stage a very unique and very public proposal to his girlfriend. Much to his and the crowd’s delight, his girlfriend said yes, and a surprise performance then ensued. With the help of Kitam Guru and DPC Yellow Pages, the very lucky couple was able to hold their wedding and reception in under 10 minutes! From the moment Rodel, proposed to his girlfriend-turned-fiancé-turned-bride, Kai, everything they needed – rings, dresses, tuxedo, church, caterer, etc. – came together in an extravaganza of dance and song.
Afterwards, the members of the press were invited to the reception where the couple and their sponsors told them more about DPC Yellow Pages. The President, Mr. Ricardo Bautista and the Vice Presidents for Marketing and New Media, Ms. Edna Villena and Mr. Doji Lopez, respectively, explained to the press what makes DPC Yellow Pages an invaluable tool for both consumers and businesses. At the end of the reception/press conference, all attendees were given goody bags while some of the lucky ones walked away with SM Gift Certificates, a digital camera and an iPod Touch.
The event, as well as our other promotional efforts, have been generally well-received. Some mall-goers witnessed the Instant Wedding which was nicely complimented by SM MOA’s fireworks show. Multiple websites and blogs have already posted articles on the event. As of today, 15 different print and online publications, including FHM, Sunstar, Manila Bulletin, Business World and Yahoo! News have written about the event and DPC.
The video of the Instant Wedding will be available on youtube soon. Please await for an announcement from Marketing.
Advertisers have given positive feedback on other campaign materials. Currently, plans are already being made for the succeeding campaign that will further increase usage and drive the Yellow Pages as the preferred medium of sellers seeking buyers. |
